Maintenance
Keeping
traffic on the repaired Twin Span Bridge
requires a rigorous inspection and maintenance
program. Maintenance activities sometimes
require closure of one or both lanes. Whenever
possible, full closures are limited to overnight
hours when traffic demand is lowest.

weather conditions and may be
re-scheduled in the event of inclement
weather. Inspections may result in
travel delays on the Twin Span Bridge.
Alternate routes include the Causeway
Bridge and Interstate 55. Heavy delays
are possible on the U.S. Highway 11
bridge.
